Summer 2017 - Hawaii to Korea Trip

June 10, 2017 It was pouring last night and continued to rain all day.  So what does my brother David wanted to do?  Go hiking at Lihumahu Waterfall Trail!  It will make the waterfall more spectacular he says!  Ok, I'm up for an adventure.  My parents decided to stay to watch the kids.  The only kids that wanted to go were Joey and Ethan.  Ethan wanted to film video for his Vlog saying my blog was too boring.  Dressing appropriately in our rain gear and water shoes, we headed off to the trail.  It was 15 mins from the house and to my surprise, a lot of other people had the great idea of going hiking as well.  We had to be extra cautious because it was so wet.  It rained about 75% of our hike.  We had to cross several creeks and climbed many rocky terrains.  A walking stick was very helpful.  At one point, I slipped a little bit while climbing.  Tiffanie was right below me and tried to "support" me by holding on...

June 9, 2017 Last night there was a lot of shuffling around of sleep space.  The kids wanted to sleep in the main house.  They been watching too much horror videos and needed to feel safe.  David and Tiffanie took one of the villa bedroom and Matty and I took the other.  The only issue I had was trying to get rid of the big bugs (island cockroaches?).  I used a broom to try to sweep them out but those critters are so fast.  I screamed and they probably did too.  I finally gave up, turned off the lights and pretend that they are not there! The kids got good use of the pool today.  They blast their music and played pool games.  There was talk about going to the beach but we didn't get around to going.  Hanh's family was at Kailua Beach and said that the waves are too calm for boogie boarding.  They came by the house to watch game 4 of the NBA Finals.  The Warriors lost but hopefully they will get the win on home turf. ...
