June 10, 2017 - Day #9 Rainy Day Shenanigans
June 10, 2017
It was pouring last night and continued to rain all day. So what does my brother David wanted to do? Go hiking at Lihumahu Waterfall Trail! It will make the waterfall more spectacular he says! Ok, I'm up for an adventure. My parents decided to stay to watch the kids. The only kids that wanted to go were Joey and Ethan. Ethan wanted to film video for his Vlog saying my blog was too boring. Dressing appropriately in our rain gear and water shoes, we headed off to the trail. It was 15 mins from the house and to my surprise, a lot of other people had the great idea of going hiking as well. We had to be extra cautious because it was so wet. It rained about 75% of our hike. We had to cross several creeks and climbed many rocky terrains. A walking stick was very helpful. At one point, I slipped a little bit while climbing. Tiffanie was right below me and tried to "support" me by holding on to my right boob and right butt. Double violation! Anyways, I was fine and we had a good laugh about it. The hike took us 2 hours roundtrip. Hanh, Young, Co Nhung, Joey, and Ethan hiked ahead of us and got lost. Ethan and Joey was able to find their way back to the car. We found Hanh, Young, and Co Nhung about a mile away down the road.
On our way back we picked up chili from Zippy's and poke from Hibachi's. The food tasted so good after a long hike. And of course, the kids devoured it.
Next on the agenda, getting the kids out of the house! They were lazy and just want to hang out at home on their electronics and was stressing out the grandparents with their shenanigans. David, Tiffanie, and I drove them to Makapu'u Beach Park to boogie board. We were lucky to have a break from the rain. The lifeguard came down to talk to us, to make sure we are aware of how dangerous this beach can be. The boys stayed close to the shore. The waves were rough but they all managed to catch a few good rides. It started to rain after 1 ½ hours so that was our cue to pack up and go home. Today proves that we can manage to have fun despite the rain.
